C. David McDermott is President, Shareholder and Director in the firm.  He has been with the firm since 1980.

Mr. McDermott practices primarily in the fields of Commercial, Corporate, Real Estate and Business law where he represents a number of businesses and individuals.

Education: He completed his undergraduate education at The Colorado College, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1977. He received his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University in 1980.

Professional and Community Service: As a long-time resident of the area, Mr. McDermott has served as a member of the Colorado Bar Association Real Estate Council, as Trustee of the El Paso County Bar Association, and as a member and President of the Board of Education for Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. He currently serves as Trustee and Secretary of the Colorado Thirty Group, as a member of the Board of Directors of The Hundred Club, as a member and President of the Board of Directors of the Tradition of Excellence Foundation, and as a member and past Chairman of the Board of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Awards: At the conclusion of his undergraduate studies and in connection with his role with the local fraternity chapter of Phi Gamma Delta, Mr. McDermott was awarded the Cecil J. Wilkinson Award by the International Fraternity "as the most outstanding member of the Senior class of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta based upon high scholarship, personality, fraternity service and extra-curricular activities."

Upon the completion of his law school education, Mr. McDermott was awarded the Irving R. Ungerman Outstanding Clinical Student Award for his successful representation of indigent clients under the student practice statute.

In May of 1988, the El Paso County Bar Association presented Mr. McDermott the Bryan S. Gardner Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.   

In November of 2001, the Board of Education of the Cheyenne Mountain School District recognized Mr. McDermott for his "extraordinary service and leadership" as a member and President of the School Board.

In December of 2001, the Colorado Association of School Boards recognized Mr. McDermott as one of five outstanding school board members of the 176 school districts across the State of Colorado.
